Private Midwives Empower Communities with Health Services (October – December 2024)

Between October and December 2024, ASMO supported 175 private midwives in Kabul, Herat, and Nangarhar, conducting 1,223 detailing sessions and providing health education to 11,629 individuals. Midwives referred 551 clients to nearby health facilities for services including deliveries, ultrasounds, and vaccinations. Plans are underway to expand the midwives’ network to Balkh and Kandahar, further strengthening community-based healthcare delivery.
